Ride history[]
Construction and rumors[]
Rumors spread over the internet quickly that a new roller coaster would be coming to Busch Gardens Williamsburg for the 2015 season. In May 2014, SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment filed a trademark for the name Tempesto. Construction began in late August 2014, and the name was confirmed in September.
The last portion of track was installed in January 2015, and Busch Gardens Williamsburg announced the attraction March 21, 2015. Previews for the attraction were held on April 20, 2015, and Tempesto opened to the public on April 25, 2015.
Ride synopsis[]
The ride launches out of the station and the train goes halfway up a hill. It goes backwards up another hill, and then fully goes up the hill. It goes through a barrel roll mid-air before entering a dive that forms a shape resembling a loop. It then reenters the station.
